This token was struck in 1706 to commemorate the graduation of Henri Rouvière’s son, Louis-Henry.

Henri Rouvière was apothecary in chief of the army (1680) under the reign of Louis XIV, professor at the Paris botanical garden (1706) and consul (1715). He died in 1721.
