Albert Leulier started his career as a military pharmacist. He was sent to Morocco where he served as the pharmacist of the Marrakech hospital. He then moved to Paris and to Lyon where he became professor at the School of Pharmacy.

He is known for his research on glucosides, sterols and potassium biochemistry. He was member of the French National Academy of Medecine.

Although not dated, this medal was probably struck in 1950
