The APDILA was founded in 1955 by a team of pharmacists at the Lariboisière Hospital in Paris.

This medal was struck to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the society. The obverse side represents Professor Paul Fleury. Born in 1885, he became pharmacy resident in 1906 and professor in 1928. He was appointed professor of analytical chemistry at the Paris School of Pharmacy in 1941.
