Augustin Damiens became pharmacist in 1911. During WWI, he worked with Pr Lebeau on the combat gas chemistry. He got a Ph.D. in physical sciences in 1922 and became professor of mineral chemistry at the Paris School of Pharmacy in 1929. He became dean in 1938, until 1946.
