Medal struck in 2019 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the death of Johann Friedrich Böttger.
Johann Friedrich Böttger was pharmacy apprentice and became interested in alchemy. Later, he collaborated with Von Tschirnhaus to discover a hard porcelain which became famous, the Saxony porcelain. He founded the Porcelain manufacture of Meissen.
