Medal struck in 1935 to commemorate the 225th anniversary of the Saxony porcelain, discovered by Johann Friedrich Böttger in 1710.

Johann Friedrich was pharmacy apprentice and became interested in alchemy. Later, he collaborated with Von Tschirnhaus to discover a hard porcelain which became famous, the Saxony porcelain. He founded the Porcelain manufacture of Meissen.
