This medal was struck to commemorate the 75th anniversary of CHOAY Laboratories.

Eugène Choay, pharmacist, founded the eponymous laboratories in 1912 and worked with his son, André, on pancreatic extracts and similar substances. CHOAY Laboratories then discovered a method to easily produce heparin. In 1980, Choay partnered with Sanofi and was finally bought by its partner in 1984.
