Giovanni Battista Schiapparelli, chemist and pharmacist, founded the eponymous laboratories in 1824 in Turin, mainly producing quinine and sulfuric acid. The company was acquired by Searle in 1985 and the Turin manufacturing facility was closed in 1998. |
