The Société des pharmaciens du département de la Seine was founded on December 27, 1819. In 1824, was created a sister society aimed to help the pharmacists and their families undergoing financial difficulties.

The present token was used between 1853 and 1893.

Three marks on the edge are known for this token : bee (1860-1879), pipe (1879) and cornucopia (after 1880)
