Utrecht chemists’ guild books indicate 1661 as the first issuance year, but 1664 seems more probable. D.A. Wittop Koning lists 8 existing specimens, the earliest from 1670. The medal die can be seen at the Utrecht Museum. The medallist may be Hendrik Winter according to Wittop Koning.
