Daniel Hanbury was a renowned British pharmacologist and botanist who died at 49 in 1875. To commemorate D. Hanbury, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society decided to create an award medal in his memory – for ‘high excellence in the prosecution or promotion of original research in the Natural History and Chemistry of Drugs.’
The first medal was awarded in 1881. The medal displayed here was awarded to Maurice-Marie Janot |
